This Grand Round, presented by Dr Fabien Praz, provides a comprehensive overview of the new ESC/EACTS Guidelines for the management of valvular heart disease. Dr Praz is an attending physician in interventional cardiology and valvular heart disease at University Hospital Bern and was appointed Chair of the 2025 ESC Guidelines in recognition of his academic contributions to the field.
The webinar highlights key updates and clinical implications of the new guidelines, including new and expanded sections for specific patient subpopulations. Topics covered include imaging assessment and management of aortic regurgitation, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in patients with severe aortic regurgitation who are not surgical candidates, and the management of severe primary mitral regurgitation.
