Heart failure: an update for GPs on diagnostic and management strategies

This webinar presented by Dr Mayooran Shanmuganathan will focus on heart failure: an update for GPs on diagnostic and management strategies.

Learning objectives:

  • Diagnostic pathways for heart failure.
  • Evidence-based management of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.
  • Evidence-based management of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
  • How to detect advanced heart failure and respond to it.
  • Monitoring patients and troubleshooting common issues such as fluid overload and hyperkalaemia in the community.

Dr Shanmuganathan’s talk will focus on evidence-based diagnostic and management pathways for patients with suspected or confirmed heart failure. The talk will also highlight the importance of spotting advanced heart failure and urgent referral for appropriate therapies including mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation.
