Postgraduate Course in Peri-procedural Echocardiography
Learning Objectives and Overall Goals
• Train imagers to guide structural interventions in the heart team
• Acquire skills for transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography assessments
• Assess mitral valve disease by echocardiography as a basis for decision about transcatheter interventions
• Foster diagnostic decisions and management of atrial septal defects, left atrial appendage closure and pulmonary valve symptoms
• Assess symptoms and severity of tricuspid valve disease as a basis for decision about transcatheter interventions
• Diagnose aortic valve stenosis and regurgitation as a basis for decision for surgery or TAVI
• Get acquainted with peri-procedural imaging for circulatory support
Overall Goals: Provide the participants with practical skills in peri-procedural echocardiography for the assessment of structural heart disease as a decision basis for interventional or surgical management.
EACVI Expected Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to apply the learned skills in peri-procedural echocardiography for the assessment of structural heart disease as a decision basis
for interventional or surgical management
