Heart failure update for primary care

The focus of this talk is on understanding the pathophysiology of heart failure, to help identify when patients need to be investigated and how best to do so.

It also covers the latest NICE guidelines on heart failure, to help understand their implementation, as well as an overview of the latest research and treatments for heart failure.

Dr Rakesh Sharma is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, where he is the clinical lead for heart failure.

In addition to heart failure, he has specialist expertise in cardiac sarcoidosis, cardio-oncology and advanced pacing (including implantation of biventricular pacemakers and defibrillators).
