Clinical update on venous thromboembolism: from diagnosis and treatment

This talk provides an overview of clinical and radiologic assessment and treatment of suspected deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, including imaging assessment, risk stratification and treatment.

• To become familiar with the testing options for deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and new developments in the field
• To understand how patients with deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism are risk stratified
• To understand how patients with deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism are treated including anticoagulant therapy and catheter based treatment.

Dr Carole Ridge is a consultant cardiothoracic and interventional radiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, specialising in lung tumour ablation, cardiac imaging and quantitative imaging of the lungs.
