Investigation and management of heart failure and heart muscle disease
The webinar will focus on the investigation and initial management of heart failure and heart muscle disease in primary care. Including red flag symptoms, importance of family history, what to look for on ECGs and echocardiograms, use of natriuretic peptides, and when to refer to specialist care.

- Identify red flags in patients presenting with heart failure and cardiomyopathy
- Improve confidence in interpreting initial investigations such as ECGs, Holter monitors and echocardiograms
- Improve confidence in the use of natriuretic peptides
- Improve knowledge of the initial treatment of heart failure and cardiomyopathy – including recent treatment updates
- Define indications and priority for referral to secondary care
