Professor S Yen Ho is a consultant cardiac morphologist for Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, studying the structure of the heart to better understand congenital and pathological cardiac anatomy.
Professor Ho is presented with referrals of heart specimens and cases from around the UK and overseas. She is an expert in the post-mortem examination of normally structured hearts with arrhythmia and hearts with congenital malformations with special interest in the cardiac conduction system.
Professor Ho is well renowned for her research and education projects and regularly speaks at international conferences.

Within her time, she has represented Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, including the European Congress of Cardiology, the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Asia Pacific Paediatric Cardiology Society, and Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons of Asia, the European Heart Rhythm Association, the Asia-Pacific Heart Rhythm Association and the Heart Rhythm Society (USA).

In addition to this, she has had more than 400 papers published in peer-reviewed journals covering the multi-facets of her scientific/medical research.
Professor Ho has developed education of cardiac morphology in 3D. Her human anatomy and morphology short courses are recognised internationally, attracting participants from all corners of the world. Her annual course “hands-on cardiac morphology” is the go-to course, she is running it twice a year to increasing numbers of participants.
Moreover, she has run several of her short courses abroad, e.g.in S.E.Asia. In addition, she conducts morphology seminars for internal staff and external institutions.
Incorporated in her role, she also teaches international students and mentors visiting fellows.
